CULLOMPTON RANGERS 0
BRIDPORT 2
BRIDPORT continued their superb form with a sixth victory in nine games, beating Cullompton Rangers 2-0 away.
Three points boost Chris Herbst’s men into 12th place ahead of their trip to Torrington on Saturday (3pm).
Playing conditions were difficult for both sides with the Edenvale Park pitch not conducive to a slick passing game.
Cullompton mounted pressure at regular intervals but returning goalkeeper Greg Taylor was rarely in serious trouble.

When Cully did probe away, Taylor dealt well with crosses into the box and enjoyed a hard-working buffer in front of him in the shape of Bridport’s back line.
Bridport saw first-half opportunities for Tom Richardson and Fred Parsons go begging and it took changes from manager Herbst to help the Bees break the deadlock.
Sol Ayunga replaced Richardson on the hour and it took the striker just 14 minutes to score, running on to a Sam Handyside through ball and coolly finishing first time.
And Ayunga settled the game five minutes from time with a fine team move, Will Gape and Handyside combining in midfield.
Handyside found James Cox sprinting down the left wing and the left-back’s cross perfectly picked out Ayunga in the area to bury his fifth goal in four games.
Speaking post-match, Herbst said of the red-hot Ayunga: “The only thing I’d say is that he’s got to be a bit greedier.
“His finishing is good but certain players aren’t greedy and he should be.”
Bees: Taylor, Childs (Weedon 68), Cox, Magee (Handyside 46), Wright, King, Daniels, Gape, Parsons, Richardson (Ayunga 61), Jones (Gall 82).
