STRIKER Joel Hewitt has signed for Dorchester Sports, boss Ashley James has confirmed.
Hewitt last week left Portland United having made just eight appearances for the Blues this season, failing to score.
His performances in 2022/23 come after nine goals in 31 matches during the previous campaign.
Hewitt re-joins Sports after a spell at the Avenue Stadium as a teenager.
James told Echosport: “Joel will play on Saturday, he’s signed from Portland.

“We rely too much on Alex Godfrey to score our goals and it’s not fair on him.
“Last season we had two or three other people who were chipping in with double figures, we haven’t had that this year.
“Joel’s a brilliant striker, knows where the net is and we had him as a 16-year-old. He was brilliant in that first season.
“Being that bit older now he’s going to be even better. We’re looking forward to working with him again. Hopefully he can get on the scoresheet.”
Sports host bottom side Shaftesbury Town Reserves in the Jewson Dorset Premier League on Saturday (2pm).
