BOBBY Wilkinson admitted Weymouth’s 0-0 draw at home to St Albans City was “two points dropped”.
Wilkinson’s men created the better chances during the game and felt they should have been awarded an eighth-minute penalty when claims for handball against Joy Mukena were ignored.
Wilkinson was booked for his protests after the incident, before Luke Nippard saw the best chance of the half saved by City keeper Michael Johnson.
Weymouth’s defence starved the Saints, whose slick play was a real highlight, of any clear chance in the second half, keeper Zaki Oualah a virtual spectator.

But the Terras will rue Brad Ash’s tame penalty, saved easily by Johnson after Michael Clarke tripped Tom Bearwish in the box.
Ahkeem Rose also smashed a stoppage-time chance into the side netting as Weymouth remained 23rd and two points off safety.
Speaking to Echosport, Wilkinson said: “It’s two points dropped but it’s not a negative, it’s a positive because we took a point.
“If you’d said to me that we don’t lose and we play well I’m not going to be greedy.
“Brad’s got to do better with the penalty. If you’re going to miss, miss. He’s devastated, so what’s it going to achieve me going to rant and rave at him?
“I will take him off penalties now, Rosey will step up and take the penalties. Fair play to Brad, he picked up the ball and went for it again.
“He missed his last one and he’s missed that one, so there won’t be a third chance in that department. He’s been superb for us.
“We need him, he’s so important for what we want to achieve. Head up, Brad. Let’s go again.”
On Weymouth’s first-half penalty shout, Wilkinson said: “I’m a firm believer, where you are in the league that’s what happens.
“We made up for it because of what we carried on doing, we got the penalty and then missed it.
“The first one, we’re disappointed but I’m not worried about that. It’s all about my players, they put in a shift.
“My boys were fantastic. Brad will be the villain for missing, I’ll most probably be the villain because everyone will say: ‘Why did he take the second one?’
“Listen, he took the penalty, he’s missed. Let’s move on.”
Weymouth registered only their fourth clean sheet at home in the league this season, and Wilkinson was keen to praise his defensive unit.
He said: “We’ve kept a clean sheet at home and we haven’t done that many times this year.
“It just shows how hard we’re working as a collective and trying to win games.
“We’re giving ourselves a chance. I go home knowing that if we beat Farnborough, one of our games in hand, we’ll be closer.
“One game at a time, let’s see how we can keep competing. We showed something I’m so proud about.
“We lost our last two games in the last minutes and we didn’t see that (on Saturday).”
Wilkinson also highlighted the return of midfielder Luke Nippard to the starting line-up.
“Luke hasn’t been in the squad, he’s been in and out, I thought he was outstanding,” Wilkinson told uptheterras.co.uk
“You can see his hunger, you can see he wanted to keep his shirt. I’m really pleased about that.
“The boys that came off the bench did their jobs and nothing changed. It can get very awkward with ten minutes to go, making changes when everyone’s set.
“Every man, even the boys not playing, just outstanding this week. Positive week, positive training.”
Weymouth visit Farnborough tomorrow (7.45pm).
