BELLE CONSTRUCTION 65

CORFE CRUSADERS 30

FORMIDABLE Belle Construction again finished as South & West Dorset League Premier Division champions after a 65-30 win over Corfe Crusaders.

Belle’s midcourt started strongly, with great marking from C Ashleigh Browne which pushed Corfe’s attack to their limits.

While Corfe GD Marcelina Pryzbysz and GK Laura Pearson forced Belle to work hard to get the ball to their shooters throughout the game, the champions’ shooters were up to the challenge and slotted in goal after goal.

Belle used their speed through court to get the ball down quickly, while Corfe’s attack demonstrated patience and worked the ball around the circle to create shooting opportunities.

Ultimately, Belle dominated this game to take the title in style.

In the second quarter, Warmer continued their fast play despite disruptions from Joe Newton’s GK Emily Fraher in the circle. Warmer extended their lead with great interceptions from WD Jenni Ayles and C Becky Hallet.

At half-time, Warmer switched Linzi Gardner into GA, which added more speed to their attack, as well as accurate shooting. Despite tight defence from Joe Newton, especially their C Millie Simmons, Warmer continued to pull away further.

Accurate shooting from Joe Newton GS Tracey Moore gave them a good start to the final quarter.

Then, great interceptions from Joe Newton’s WD Martha Usher meant Warmer had to slow down their attack. Warmer managed to do this and extended their lead even further to take a great win.

COASTAL CHEESE 31

EXE TRAINING 11

COASTAL Cheese finished runners-up to Warmer following a 31-11 triumph over Exe Training.

Exe’s defence did well in the first quarter to put pressure on Coastal but their GS Laura Oates created space well in the circle, while their C Jess Mortimer covered good ground.

Frequent changes in possession between the two teams made for a low-scoring first quarter, with Coastal pulling ahead by just a few goals.

There was continued pressure form Coastal’s defence throughout the second quarter. Although, great communication between Exe’s midcourt players helped them to combat this.

Exe GK Gracie Kingston made good interceptions, read play well and was dominant in the circle.

There were several changes of positions across both teams at half-time, which turned out to benefit Coastal, as they played brilliantly, winning the third quarter 9-1.

Coastal continued to maintain their healthy lead through the final quarter and secured themselves the win.

ZEST 23

WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS B 32

WARMER Home Improvements B finished second behind Division Two champions WJNC Wildcats following a 32-23 win over Zest.

Zest’s shooters dominated the first quarter, with great strength shown from GS Emma Mills. The match evened out as the quarter progressed and Warmer settled into its intensity.

There continued to be back and forth, even play throughout second quarter.

This was exemplified by Warmer GS Sam Rees and Zest GK Lyndsey Pollard, who competed for every ball and challenged each other. Warmer managed to take a one-goal lead into half-time.

Warmer flew out of the blocks after the break, with their GD Sarah Bryant coming up with interceptions on multiple occasions to win possession for the team.

Zest pulled the score back a little towards the end of the third quarter but the damage had been done and Warmer had extended their lead.

Despite them starting strong in the final quarter, Warmer continued to have the upper hand on Zest.

They demonstrated great movement across the court and took the win in this tightly contested game.
