DORCHESTER 79
TROWBRIDGE II 5
DORCHESTER proved to be far too strong for Trowbridge Seconds in Counties One Tribute Southern South, running in 13 tries at Surcouf Park.
The first 15 minutes of the match were relatively equal, Tom Louch’s first senior try matched by one for the visitors, but the writing was already on the wall as the visitors’ scrum was being pushed backwards at an alarming rate.
The second quarter was all Dorchester, scrum-half Jack Adams crossing for the first of four tries on his way to another Clayson Scaffolding player of the match award.
Kieran Fry, George Foot and Adams all posted further tries with Alex Peel adding two conversions, giving the hosts a clear 24-point lead at the break.

Dorchester gave Trowbridge no respite in the second half with a series of injuries adding to the Wiltshire side’s woes.
Dorchester captain Steve Tucker was next to cross the line, Callum King taking over kicking duties to add the extras.
A rare try for prop Joe Underhill provided the crowd with a joyous moment, followed by second tries for Foot and Fry, both converted by King.
Jamie Morgan came off the bench for a first appearance of the season in the first team and soon showed his usual power to barrel over in the left corner.
In the final ten minutes, Adams completed his hat-trick and Peel sprinted in from 60 metres before converting his own try.
It was fitting that the final act of the day was Adams winning the chase for a kick ahead to score his fourth try, King duly converting.
The win puts Dorchester in fifth place on the same points as Royal Wootton Bassett.
This Saturday, Josh Ovey’s men face leaders Wimborne in what could be a huge game for the club on the back of three strong wins.
Dorchester A also took to the pitch at Surcouf Park in their final Counties Three Tribute Dorset & Wilts South fixture, against Salisbury Thirds.
Salisbury came out determined to test the home side’s defensive resolve and with several changes to the home line-up, it took some time for Dorchester to settle and gel before clicking.
With both Jude Gwennap and Guy Chalstrey available at scrum and fly-half respectively, the side worked well to raise a big scoreline against a committed visiting side.
Dorchester eventually came out on top 69-0 leaving them in second place this season.
Dorchester had a number of players who could have picked up the Clayson Scaffolding player of the match award, but this week it went to Archie O’Connell for a number of hard carries and strong defensive effort, although ultimately awarded by the captain for picking up a try in front of his spectating mother.
With the league campaign now over due to a reduced number of teams, the side move into a cup campaign alongside friendlies, to keep players ready and drilled for any first-team call-ups that may be required.
