PORTLAND United manager Kyle Critchell believes the Blues’ trip to Baffins Milton Rovers represents an “incredibly hard task” tomorrow (3pm).

Critchell’s men took their first victory under his stewardship last weekend, beating Hamble 2-1 at home.

However, the islanders now travel to the Wessex League Premier’s seventh-placed side looking for their second away league win of the season.

Speaking to Echosport, Critchell said: “We’re definitely not naïve to the challenge ahead.

“Baffins are a good side and they’ve definitely shown that the last couple of seasons, establishing themselves as a top-ten team.

“We’re excited for the challenge but also cautious it’s going to be an incredibly hard task to go there and get something.”

Having taken four points in his first three games, Critchell said: “I just think the way we’re set up and the confidence some of the boys are getting with the way we’re doing things has lent itself to (believing) that we’ll give anyone a good game.

“If we prepare right and everyone takes on board our plan then we’ll give anyone in this league a good game. It’s exciting.”

Portland strikers Liam Sayers and Greg Borthwick return for the Blues.

Critchell also confirmed there would be no additions to his backroom staff.

He said: “We’ve got Josh Hickman on the sports science side of things, Andy Mallet has stayed as first-team coach and we’ve got Nathan Carter who does the video analysis and statistics.

“That will be the backroom team until the end of the season. Everyone’s found their role and has the same goals and ethos.

“At Portland it’s exciting, we’ve got loads of plans and we just need to make that progress.”
