AFTER last week’s great result against second-placed Walcot, tomorrow Dorchester entertain Dorset rivals Blandford in their Counties One Tribute Southern South league fixture (2.30pm).

The Surcouf Park faithful will no doubt be hoping for a repeat performance to cheer the county town outfit to another win in only their sixth home game of the season.

Captain Steve Tucker returns from injury and Chris ‘Lumpy’ Elliott returns on the bench following an injury in training.

Jack Adams remains at scrum-half after a standout performance last time out alongside fly-half Alex Peel.

George Foot, also returning from injury, pops up on the wing in a departure from his new back row position.

Head coach Josh Ovey knows Blandford will provide strong opposition and want to win what is always a hotly-contested local derby.

The two sides have yet to meet this season, however the last time the teams met pre-Covid, Dorchester ran out 13-3 winners.

As the table stands, Dorchester sit seventh, four points away from Royal Wootton Bassett Seconds in third place.

If results go their way, they could climb two or more places in the table.

In the division below, leaders Weymouth make a third attempt at playing their rearranged top-of-the-table clash at Oakmeadians.

Bridport travel to Lytchett Minster and Puddletown host Swanage & Wareham.

Elsewhere, Dorchester A welcome Poole back to Surcouf Park in the Counties Three Tribute Dorset & Wilts South (2.15pm).

Although they now cannot top the table, they can finish strongly in second place and continue to build a strong squad.

Jamie Ritchie continues his return for Dorchester with both Jamie Morgan and Matt Fry coming into the side after a break from the game.
