MARK 'Reggie' Carter has been appointed interim boss by Portland United.

Popular Blues faithful Carter comes in after the exit of Franklyn Clarke, whose last game as manager was last night's 5-2 loss to Bemerton.

Carter fulfilled a similar role alongside Portland legend Gary Bailey before Clarke, along with Sam Poole, was appointed as successor to Callum Brooks in October 2020.

Carter will be assisted by Andy Mallet and first-team skipper Ryan McKechnie.

In a brief statement, the Blues said: "Portland United FC is pleased to announce that Mark "Reggie" Carter will be taking on the role as interim first team manager whilst the club begins the process of appointing someone on a permanent basis.
