DORCHESTER Town first-team coach Brian Churchill believes the first goal at Hartley Wintney is “vital” tomorrow (3pm).
Glenn Howes’ men visit Pitching In Southern League Premier South strugglers The Row searching for back-to-back wins after beating Yate 2-0 on Monday.
Hartley Wintney have lost five of their last six league games and sit in 20th of the 22 teams, compared to the Magpies’ position of sixth.
Wintney were also hammered 5-0 by Bracknell in their last outing and Churchill subsequently believes scoring first could derail their hosts again.
He told Echosport: “The first goal’s going to be vital up there. It’s not a ground we relish going to with the slope on the pitch.

“But that will fill the boys with confidence, what we’ve done (against Yate). It was a professional performance from minute one to 90.
“It’s just a pity we didn’t get a couple more goals for the home crowd, it was fantastic to have their backing as well.
“I’ve looked at our defeats and I think we’ve lost as many (at home) as we have away.
“Our away record isn’t bad, it just needs a couple more in the win department and we’ll be there or thereabouts.”
January contains six league games for the Magpies and Churchill views many of those fixtures as genuine chances for victory.
He said: “All we can do is win our games. Every three points is massive. It’s boosted us up three places.
“Some games on paper we should win but every game in this league’s really difficult. We’re hoping to get a few points more by the end of January, that’s for sure.”
Dorchester are closing in on extending Alex Moyse’s loan deal from Torquay, while Jordan Ngalo (hamstring) is likely not to be risked.
