WEYMOUTH & Portland will attempt to control their top-of-the-table clash with Oakmeadians today, with coach Rich Bament demanding his side “impose” themselves on their hosts.
Going into the mouthwatering tussle, the Seahorses occupy first place with Oakmeadians one point behind in second ahead of the final match in 2022.
While Bament stopped short of saying the winners would be favourites for the title, he acknowledged the magnitude of the game.
When put to him the match could go a long way to deciding the title’s destiny, he told Echosport: “It could do.

“The destiny’s in everyone’s hands. It’s what happens on the day – if the game goes ahead because of the weather.
“If I’m honest, I don’t think very much rugby’s going to be played with the forecast. It’s so cold and nothing’s thawing out.
“I think we’ll be looking at January. But, if it does get the go-ahead we’ll give it our best shot.
“We know what to expect. Rugby’s a game of manipulation, basically. You manipulate them to get them what you want to do, and impose yourself.
“If you don’t, you roll over and let the opposition to do what they want to do.
“So, we’ve got to counter what they want to do and then impose ourselves on them. I’ve got faith in everybody.”
Dan Hayne (foot) and Joe Gibson (broken foot) are in contention to return.
