BLANDFORD UNITED 4
HAMWORTHY UNITED RESERVES 2
BLANDFORD United continued their excellent form this season with a 4-2 victory over Hamworthy United Reserves in the Jewson Dorset Premier League.
Six goals were scored, all coming during the final 30 minutes after both sides had missed good chances in the first half.
The breakthrough came in the 59th minute from an unfortunate own goal as Hammers’ keeper Jakub Lewiarz spilled a Joe Kempster corner in off his knee to put Blandford 1-0 up at Park Road.
Blandford’s star striker Sam Watson then put the game out of reach for Hamworthy, converting a one-on-one chance before drilling into the bottom corner to cap a slick team move for 3-0.

Watson was also involved in Blandford’s fourth goal, with smart interplay between Rowan Adlem allowing the sub to score a deflected fourth just four minutes after coming on.
And the goals kept coming as Hamworthy deprived the Royals of a clean sheet, Oumar Cissokho finishing a square pass with ease from inside the box for 4-1.
Cissokho then bagged the goal of the game when Blandford cleared a Hamworthy corner and the substitute sent an unstoppable volley beyond ex-Weymouth striker-turned-keeper Mark Ford.
Blandford are sat in seventh but should realistically move into fifth once their multiple games in hand over Hamworthy and Sturminster Marshall are played.
Gerald Stanley’s men next visit Balti Sports, while Hamworthy tackle bottom side Portland United Reserves at home (both Saturday).
