CITY OF BRISTOL 3
WEYMOUTH 0
WEYMOUTH Beach Volleyball Club suffered their first defeat of the season in National League Division One when they lost 3-0 at City Of Bristol.
The result came as a major surprise as Weymouth had beaten Bristol at home just last month, Weymouth now third in the table as a result.
Weymouth, who had not played for three weeks, went into the match with Matt Hunter returning to the side.
Hunter missed last month’s matches while playing for the England Beach Volleyball team in an indoor beach event in Sweden.

However, they were missing opposite hitter Luca Pusvaskis (ankle).
The match was very tight throughout with few points between the teams.
However, while in the home match Weymouth were able to find holes in the Bristol defence this time they were much tighter.
This, combined with Bristol’s own attack being more powerful, made it harder for Weymouth to gain points at crucial times.
All three sets came down to one or two decisive points at the end of each set and each time Bristol were able to come out winners taking the sets 27-25, 25-23, 25-22.
Weymouth have their final home match before Christmas on Saturday when they take on Dark Star Derbyshire at Redlands (1.45pm). Entry is free.
This will be the first time the two clubs have ever met and should be an absorbing contest as both teams have very similar records so far this season.
Weymouth will need to work hard on their serving and sharpness in training in preparation for this match.
