BELLE CONSTRUCTION 63
TEAM WAIKIKI 18
SOUTH & West Dorset League Premier Division leaders Belle Construction sealed a healthy 63-18 win over bottom side Team Waikiki in week seven.
Waikiki were initially undeterred in playing top-of-the-table Belle and their defence, especially GK Sam Cowley, came up with great interceptions at the start of the game.
Belle, however, were able to win the ball back thanks to their strong defence and dominated the first quarter.
There was seemingly effortless shooting from Belle’s GS Jodie Howell and GA Ashleigh Browne in the second quarter, although Waikiki’s GA Hayley Rooks was also putting up some impressive long shots.

In the second half, the game continued to move at a fast pace, with Waikiki’s GD Vicki Bartliff and Belle’s WA Lou Buglers both standing up for their teams.
Although Belle dominated this game, both sides had a blast on court and enjoyed the game right up until the final whistle.
BUGLERS 32
CORFE CRUSADERS 38
CORFE Crusaders joined Belle in the Premier Division winners’ enclosure with a 38-32 victory against Buglers.
Buglers started quickly and scored three goals unanswered. Despite starting quietly, Corfe soon picked up the pace and brought themselves into the game.
Corfe started the second quarter much better and both teams were now moving the ball quickly up and down the court.
Accurate shooting from Bugler’s GA Kat Frampton meant they held onto a two-goal lead going into half-time.
Buglers initially dominated possession in the third quarter. Both teams’ defence came up with strong interceptions.
Corfe’s GK Laura Pearson continued to win the ball back for her team and Corfe had managed to pull ahead at the final break.
In the fourth quarter, Corfe dominated play in attack, creating good opportunities for GS Laura Gardner.
Buglers continued to work hard but missed some key opportunities to close the gap and Corfe took the win.
COASTAL CHEESE 34
FIRST FIT WINDOWS 35
FIRST Fit Windows clinched a nerve-jangling 35-34 win over Coastal Cheese in Division One.
This game was going goal-for-goal throughout the first half, with neither team being able to pull away.
Coastal used dynamic movement and quick passing in their attack, with shooters Lauren Oates and Emily Turnetty working well together.
Meanwhile, First Fit’s mid-courters Jess Quickfall and Mandy Northover communicated well across court.
In the second half, the game continued to be close. First Fit used the width of the court well in attack, while Coastal’s defence worked hard to win possession for their team.
Despite this, and some very accurate shooting from Coastal, First Fit snuck ahead and won by just one goal.
DREAM DIGITAL 9
ZEST 50
ZEST gained bragging rights over Dream Digital with a 50-9 triumph in their inter-club match in Division Two.
Both teams immediately showed great intensity in defence and applied pressure.
In particular, Zest’s GS Nola Smith showed great commitment to her team, fighting to keep the ball in play.
In the second quarter, the height and range of Zest’s GK Lauren Mead caused real problems for Dream’s attack and, although both sides struggled in attack at times, Zest had a healthy lead going into half-time.
Dream’s defence worked tirelessly throughout the second half, but Zest’s experience shined through and they continued to extend their lead until the final whistle.
This was, however, a very friendly and enjoyable game, with both sides showing awesome support for their club mates.
