PRIDE will be at stake when Dorset host Buckinghamshire in the MCCA Trophy at Sherborne School tomorrow (11am).
Both sides have already missed out on a quarter-final place with Lincolnshire having clinched top spot in group four.
Dorset and Bucks, who have identical won none, lost two, no-result one, records, are unable to progress by finishing in second place.
Cambridgeshire and Wales meet at Wisbech to decide who goes through as runners-up.
Dorset will be without big-hitters Steve Selwood and Darren Cowley through unavailability, while bowler Rich Banham also misses the match for the same reason.
Former Sherborne schoolboy Charlie Esson, Max Waller and Ed Denham step into the fray, with Steve Taylor 12th man.
Dorset manager Sean Walbridge said: "It's a chance for the boys coming in to put a marker down for the rest of the season.
"Charlie, who plays for St Cross in the Southern League, opens the batting and Guy Hicks will probably go in at four. It's a chance for him to bat further up the order.
"Ziggy Arshad will probably also bat further up the order to give him a chance to shine."
Walbridge, whose side's Minor Counties Championship clash against Wales at Swansea was washed out earlier this week, is keen for Dorset to avoid bottom spot in the group.
He added: "We also want to get some cricket under our belts after the frustration of only having played two complete games going into June. It's about building some momentum.
"Hopefully we can win this game because it would stand us in good stead for our championship match against Herefordshire in three weeks' time.
"It was very frustrating being in Swansea for three days and only getting three overs in because of the rain."
Dorset: Esson, N Park, Lawes, G Hicks, C Park, Arshad, Metcalfe, T Hicks, Waller, Ford, Denham. 12th man: Taylor.
