NEW Zealander Andrew Falloon has had to call off his move to Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League side Weymouth due to a horrific' accident that has left his mother in intensive care.
The all-rounder was expected to fly over this week after finally receiving his visa but he will now remain Down Under with his family while his mother receives treatment.
Seasiders' captain Dean Janaway said: "Andy was all set to come over but his mother has suffered a horrific accident that has left her in intensive care.
"It does not sound very good and everyone at the club sends their best wishes to him and his family at what must be a traumatic time.
"Andy actually called us straight away when it happened, which was nice of him, but we told him that he had far more important things to think about than us.
"It is a real shame because he is a really nice guy and he has been trying to get over here for the past couple of weeks."
Weymouth have kept the door open for Falloon by telling him they will be interested in taking him next summer and in the meantime they have called upon Ben Lawes for tomorrow's tricky trip to Suttoners, who currently top the table after capturing wins against Parley and Dorchester.
Janaway added: "It is half-term so Ben is available this weekend and he has got one of his pupils from Bryanston School, James Ladd-Gibbon, to come over as well.
"James is 17 and is an opening bowler and is looking to get some experience. We invited him to nets on Tuesday and he is pretty quick and will give us something different, he will also be available to us from June so we are looking forward to seeing how he goes.
"Ben and James will replace Laurie Whyte and Dave Pearce tomorrow as they are both attending a wedding."
Weymouth's derby against Dorchester last week was postponed due to the weather and Suttoners' trip to Compton House suffered the same fate, denying them the chance to make it three wins from three.
Janaway said: "They have had a very good start to the season, beating two strong teams, so it is going to be a tough one but also one we are looking forward to.
"A lot of Sunday cricket has also fell to the weather recently so we are all just looking forward to getting out there again because in some ways it feels like the season has not really started."
Chris Insall will be Suttoners' man to watch. The opening batsman scored 44 against Dorchester and is a huge threat if he is allowed to get his eye in.
Janaway added: "Chris Insall scored a lot of runs at this level but the rest of their side is also strong so we will have to play well to beat them."
Weymouth: Ryall, Janaway, Payne, Bray, Lawes, England, Browne, M Pearce, Nobbs, Trotter, Ladd-Gibbon.
* Weymouth Seconds entertain Bournemouth in Division One at Redlands (2pm).
