DORCHESTER host Wimborne & Colehill tomorrow (1.30pm) in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League looking for their first win since the opening day.
The county town side comprehensively beat Blandford almost three weeks ago but since then they have suffered defeat at Suttoners and seen the highly anticipated derby clash with Weymouth called off due to wet weather.
Skipper Martyn Richards is desperate to get out on the wicket, but faces a side who have won two out of three fixtures so far.
He said: "Everyone was bitterly disappointed about last week's abandoned game so we are eagerly awaiting this one and hoping we can get some cricket in ahead of the following week's game against Broadstone, which will be tough.
"But that's not to undermine Wimborne & Colehill who themselves are a strong Premier League outfit and have made a good start to the season.
"We just want to get out and play some cricket and hopefully record a big points total, consolidate our position of second in the league and go to Broadstone full of confidence.
"We are under no illusions, tomorrow is going to be a tough test for us. The league is quite open with lots of teams beating each other, so it's a case of who turns up on the day wanting it most. We will have to be at our best on Saturday."
For all his optimism though, Richards is fully aware that a second successive rain off could be on the cards.
He added: "I've been looking at the forecast and it's not one to be too positive about but we are hoping to get out there and make sure we are sharp ahead of the trip to Broadstone. You can train in the nets all you like but it's not the same as being out there in a game situation."
Dorset all-rounder Dan Belt is back to full fitness following a thigh injury, however, bowler Adam Iyer is unavailable for tomorrow's encounter at the Rec.
Richards said: "I'm delighted to welcome Dan back, unfortunately though Adam can't make it down from university, but this is the last week we'll be without him. Other than Adam we are at full strength."
Dorchester: Richards, Sibley, Moxom, Haynes, Gerety, Belt, Tweddle, Dunnett, Waite, Miller, Morley.
* Dorchester Seconds travel to Shaftesbury tomorrow (2pm) in Division Two while the county town club's third team, so far undefeated, visit Old Blandfordians in Division Eight.
