PORTLAND skipper Martin Hewson will be crossing his fingers that high scoring runs in the family tomorrow when his side tackles Poole Seconds at Reforne in Dorset Funeral Plan Division Three (2pm).

The islanders have called up Callum Laws, son of former Weymouth FC striker David, and they are hoping he will find scoring runs as easy as his father scored goals.

The 16-year-old has been drafted into the squad in the absence of Sam Polley and Laurie West.

Hewson said: "Laurie has a back injury and Sam is unavailable so we have called up Callum and will be selecting from a 12-man squad because of the weather.

"Jan Davey is also back available and hopefully we will be able to continue our improved performances and claim a second home win of the season.

"Poole came down with us last season when we beat them at our place and they beat us at theirs so it promises to be a good match.

"With them being a second team and it being a bank holiday weekend you can also never be too sure about the strength of their side but we are feeling confident and looking forward to the game."
