FRUSTRATION was the overriding emotion for Dorchester Town assistant-manager James Wood after the Magpies lost 2-1 at Hanwell Town.
Hanwell cashed in on a good start to take a 25th-minute lead through Danny Rowe, but the visitors replied strongly when Alfie Stanley scored his third goal of the season before the break.
Dorchester continued to create chances but Rowe grabbed his second against the run of play.
And Hanwell then rode their luck late on as the Magpies failed to convert heavy pressure deep in the game.
Despite a third-straight loss in all competitions, Dorchester are eighth in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South table.

That was of little consolation to Wood, though, who felt Dorchester were worthy of a point at least.
He told Echosport: “We’re very disappointed, there is a feeling of frustration directly after the game.
“We’ve got to try and manage that. There’s still a lot of good things. We’re a completely different animal than what we were last season.
“So, the expectation level goes up slightly but we are very frustrated to come away without a point or, to be realistic, probably three.
“I thought we dominated large spells of that game.”
Wood also took issue with Hanwell’s first goal, estimating it was five yards offside.
He said: “They’re a decent side, Hanwell. They’ve got attacking threats but the first goal is probably a good five yards offside.
“I can’t wait to see the replay back. If I’m wrong, I’ll hold my hands up but from our first impression it’s an absolutely ridiculous decision.
“We shouldn’t be coming away without any points, to be quite honest.”
While Dorchester did seize large spells of possession in the second half, with numerous attacks, Wood recognised the Magpies’ inability to capitalise when on top.
He said: “We started the second half really well. We’ve got them on the back foot, dominated possession.
“It was wave after wave of attack. I wouldn’t say there were clear-cut chances but there were a lot we needed to capitalise on.
“Olaf (Koszela) has had a couple that he really should’ve scored, Ti (Sa) has got round the outside and should probably have scored.
“We’ve dominated large spells, especially second half, and that’s when you need to take advantage.
“Their chances were very limited second half, maybe counter-attacks.
“That is the frustration because once we’ve equalised it only looked like there was going to be one team that came away with the points. Then we get caught.
“Two bad goals defensively from our point of view by the standards these boys have set.
“There’s a real sense of frustration but we have to channel that and we’ve now got two games at home that we’re really looking forward to.
“Things can quickly change. After those two home games we’re at the ten-game mark and that is where we really need to judge ourselves, take stock and see where we are.
“Glenn (Howes, boss) and myself have always taken it on ten-game blocks throughout the season.
“After these two home games we can have a really good look at things. It’s a huge improvement.
“Coming away from home and being this frustrated at not getting any points is a huge step in the right direction when you look at the bigger picture.
“It doesn’t feel like that at the moment! But when you look at the bigger picture that would probably be the overriding thought.”
Dorchester Town host Tiverton Town tomorrow (7.45pm) before entertaining Harrow on Saturday (3pm).
