DORCHESTER TOWN U23 10

LYMINGTON TOWN U23 1

DORCHESTER Town Under-23s demolished Lymington Town Under-23s 10-1 in their Hampshire Combination and Development League Under-23 Division West clash.

The young Magpies produced a stellar display at the Avenue Stadium and were 6-0 up at half-time to effectively kill the game.

Just 24 hours after scoring for Bridport in the Bees’ 4-3 loss to Axminster, Bosley Yu netted a looping header to give Dorchester a fifth-minute lead.

Remus Nixon punished a poor defensive clearance for 2-0 before a rapid long-range double from Marcus Smith and Yu put the Magpies four goals to the good.

And Dorchester made it six goals in the space of 31 minutes when Ben Symes headed home a Smith cross and Matheus Oliveira raided forward from left-back before scoring.

It took just two minutes of the second half for Dorchester to bag a seventh when Smith was on hand to finish after Nixon’s shot was parried.

Symes converted a 51st-minute penalty as the Magpies threatened to make it a cricket score, but Lymo did pull a consolation goal back when Noah Pierce scored from Brodie Blake’s pass with 19 minutes to go.

However, Dorchester responded three minutes later with their ninth as Ieuan Turner headed home Ollie Crisp’s corner.

Smith, who enjoyed an excellent game in central midfield, then capped his performance with a fine hat-trick as he ploughed a free-kick into the bottom corner to complete the scoring.

Magpies: Dillon, C Lee, Oliveira, Gadsby, Turner, Toms, Symes, M Smith, R Nixon, Hodder, Yu. Subs: E Robinson, Crisp, N Nixon, Hughes, Nicholson.
