CERNE Valley are looking to bounce back after a disappointing relegation to County Division on the last day of the 2021 season.
Valley are hoping a season of change, featuring a new captain in Lloyd Mitchem, will help steer them to success this season.
Cerne get their campaign under way with a trip to Poole Town Thirds this Saturday (1.30pm).
Mitchem told Echosport: "We have had some really good indoor training sessions and we have now focused our attention to outdoor nets and friendly matches in preparation for the first game of the season.
"Last season was disappointing in terms of getting relegated but it gives us a chance to rebuild and bounce straight back up.

"We've got a few new players in our ranks so hopefully we can have a consistent team out that can challenge towards the top end of the league."
He added: " Last season we had a really slow start to the season. We will definitely hit the ground running this season and hopefully set a precedent for the season ahead. I want Cerne to be a really hard team to beat."
Mitchem is also looking to recruit new players.
He said: "If anyone is interested in joining our friendly club, please do get in contact via our Facebook and Instagram pages.
"Cerne have Saturday, Sunday, Evening League and youth teams so there is something for everyone.
"As well as a welcoming club atmosphere, we are also lucky to have a beautiful ground and surroundings. It's a great place to play cricket."
