DORCHESTER have named Dan Belt as their captain for the 2022 Dorset Cricket League season.
Former Dorset all-rounder Belt succeeds James Dunham as skipper after the latter led Dorchy to three successive Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League titles.
Belt embarks on his second spell at the helm, which comes one season after returning from retirement.
Belt was in typically solid form with the ball in his comeback season, taking 18 wickets @ 21.83 in leading the Dorchester attack.
He also managed a high score of 79 with the bat across 11 innings, showing he is still one of the most formidable cricketers across the county.

Belt is joined by Jon Legg, who will assume vice-captain duties.
Legg was on the fringes of the Dorset setup last season and also returned to the club in 2021, albeit switching across from Cattistock.
The left-arm spinner claimed 23 scalps @ 19.43 and scored 199 runs at the top of the order, including a short stint as opener.
