PORTLAND United Franklyn Clarke believes the Blues dominated every aspect of their 4-0 friendly win over Bridport.
Bridport were denied three times by keeper Mike Edgar in the opening five minutes, with Portland dominating thereafter.
Aaron Ryan and Josh Leake netted either side of a Ryan McKechnie brace, the latter then missing a late penalty for his hat-trick.
Clarke told Echosport: “I wanted to come here and impose ourselves on them, outplay them, be physical, be fitter.
“Every aspect of the game we wanted to dominate and I felt we did that.
“The first 10 minutes was poor and once we settled we were comfortable. Some of the football we played was really good.

“We’ve played some tough games in pre-season against Weymouth, Totton and Wimborne.
“It was nice to play a team that was a similar level to us and gauge where we’re at.
“It was a young squad and to come and do that with eight players missing was really good.”
Bridport boss Rob Marquis felt all four goals could have been avoided.
Marquis said: “All four goals were preventable. You look at it and talk about it in training.
“We’ve got players who don’t know each other’s names and I did treat it completely like a friendly, so I’ll take the positives from it.
“I don’t want to lose, but it is a friendly and I’m more considering about Saturday.
“I thought we gave a good account of ourselves. Let’s face it, we’ve got a 16-year-old in goal, two 17-year-olds, 18-year-olds.
“I’ve got a lot of young players out there.”
Bridport begin their Western League season at home to Helston Athletic on Saturday (3pm).
