DORCHESTER Town have unveiled the signing of former Olympiakos and Bournemouth winger Christos Papakonstantinou.
The 20-year-old Greek winger is a former Aldershot Town academy player, Blackfield & Langley and AFC Totton wide man.
Papakonstantinou, who also has experience with PAOK Salonika, has been training with boss Robbie Herrera’s squad during pre-season.
He featured as a trialist wearing the number 10 shirt in the 1-1 friendly against Hamworthy United on Saturday.
Speaking to Echosport, Herrera said: “He’s come in and has very, very good technique and is an attacking player.
“This lad’s got a little bit about him, to be fair.”
Herrera told the Magpies’ official website: “It’s great news that Christos has signed.

“He’s a lad that has had a taste of academy football at Bournemouth – he’s technically got very good feet, he’s quick and strong for his size and he’ll add a little bit of something different to our attacking play.
“It’s great to have him on board. He’s fitted in well with the rest of the players, and again he’ll be one that’s looking to push on, having had a taste of life in the professional game, and to try and get back there.”
Back in 2018, Totton boss Louis Langdown – now Weymouth assistant – signed Papakonstantinou for the Stags.
He told the Daily Echo: “We like his attitude and the kid is full of tricks and flicks. He’s a free spirit and a polite lad who you can’t help but like.”
Meanwhile, last season's loanees Olaf Koszela and Louie Slough have signed new deals at Torquay.
Boss Gary Johnson reminded the pair of his high expectations, telling the Gulls' website: “This year should be a big year for Olaf and Louie, both will need to kick on as soon as possible, and hopefully reach their full potential.
“By being with, and training with, the first team for the last couple of seasons, they would have gained a great deal of experience, and it will be there when they need it.”
Dorchester host Christchurch in their second pre-season friendly on Saturday (3pm).
