DORCHESTER Town have re-signed captain Ashley Wells for the 2021/22 season.
Wells last season signed for the Magpies on permanent terms and has made 17 appearances, including a loan spell in 2019.
The former Weymouth captain previously played 302 games for the Terras in a 10-year stint.
Centre-back Wells joins midfielder Tom Purrington in committing for the Pitching In Southern League Premier South season.
Speaking to Dorchester's official website, Magpies' boss Robbie Herrera back Wells to be influential on and off the pitch.
He said: “Ashley is experienced, he's one of the older boys in the group and I’m looking for him as our captain to be someone to look up to and help the younger players on because we’re going to be a young squad.
“He reads the game well, his positional play is good and he understands the game, so I'm hoping he’ll continue to help us improve and improve some of the players around him as well.”
