WEYMOUTH analyst Danny Webb has announced his exit from the Terras after four years at the club.

Webb was appointed at the beginning of the Mark Molesley era in 2017 and has become an integral part of club during their rise to the National League.

Molesley’s successor Brian Stock paid tribute to Webb after his decision to step away following the season-ending 4-0 loss at Hartlepool United on Saturday.

He told Echosport: “His work ethic is second to none, he’s been unbelievable.

“The stuff that he gives the lads, the information – we try and give as much as we can. He’s behind everything.

“He was going to leave at the start of the season. We had a discussion and I wanted him to be a big part of this season.

“He’s flourished this year and come into his own. He’s enjoyed it and he does hours and hours of work. He’s going to go down a different career path.

“I’m sure he’ll look back on this with fond memories.

“I really do think he’s going to be hard to replace. There’s a consistency level which helps myself, the staff and the players prepare for the next game.

“He’s there recording training sessions, doing GPS data and we’re really going to miss him.

“He’s going to be really sorely missed among the players and staff.”

Webb took to Twitter to scribe an emotional goodbye to the Terras.

He said: “After four amazing years, the time has come for me to say a huge goodbye to a club that has been a huge part of my life since 2017, but what an amazing journey it has been.

“Thank you firstly to Mark Molesley and Tom Prodomo for bringing me to the Terras in the first place.

“Without that opportunity I wouldn’t have enjoyed the many days I did at the Bob Lucas Stadium and on our long away trips we encountered.

“The success the club had during that time will always be remembered.

“A massive thank you also to Brian Stock and Louis Langdown for believing in me at this level.”

Webb went on to thank the current squad and former Weymouth defender Callum Buckley before expressing gratitude to the fans.

He signed off with a message to the supporters: “Make sure you keep backing the lads going into next season!”

Strength and conditioning coach Sam Cook has also departed the Terras.
