WEYMOUTH Wildcats co-promoter Martin Peters is expecting a difficult evening tonight as they prepare for the trip to face Birmingham in the Midland and Southern Development League.
The Wildcats opened their season with an 18-18 draw at home to the Milton Keynes Knights but Peters says his team cannot wait for the Birmingham meeting.
He said: “I think we were unlucky not to win. We could have won and we were literally half a lap away from winning as well. So at two different points we could have won.
“It made for an interesting meeting but the team were all happy and cannot wait for the next one.
“But fingers crossed, I know that Birmingham is going to be quite hard. They have got a decent team up there so it is going to be hard but we’ll just see how we can go.”
Jacob Clouting misses out after covering a national league reserve spot following an injury.
However, James Jessop comes in for his first meeting of the season in the only change from the 18-18 draw at Wimborne Road.
As a result, the team for today’s meeting will be James Laker, James Jessop, Cesca Kirtley-Paine and Sam Peters.
There will be familiar faces lining up against the Wildcats, with Jacob and Bailey Fellows set to ride for Birmingham.
The duo were consistent performers for the Wildcats last year, but with league restructuring over the summer they both chose to make the move to Birmingham.
