WEYMOUTH Wildcats will be aiming to start their season and make their debut at Poole’s Wimborne Road for this year, when they host Milton Keynes Knights in the Midland and Southern Development League tomorrow.
The reverse fixture was postponed last week, and instead will ride on the same day that the Poole Pirates host the Belle Vue Aces.
With James Jessop at university and Andrew Palmer unavailable, Sam Peters makes a quick unexpected league debut for the Wildcats.
James Laker leads the Wildcats into action, with back up from Jacob Clouting, while Francesca Kirtley-Paine also makes her debut and will become the first woman to represent the Wildcats.
Co-promoter James Tresadern is glad to have a settled team, after very frequent changes to the team last season and is looking forward to seeing his riders develop.
Tresadern said: “It has been a tough few months not knowing if we would come to the tapes this season, but through hard work, lots of phone calls, text messages and emails (tomorrow) we will be at the tapes at the home of the best speedway team in the league.
“I am looking forward to seeing Cesca develop and get better, I can’t wait to see how Sam (Peters) comes on, and to finally have a settled team with James, JJ, Jacob and Andrew.”
Fellow co-promoter Martin Peters added: “I’m looking forward to seeing the guys (and gal) develop and move on to better things, I can’t wait to get going.”
Wildcats: Clouting, Peters, Kirtley-Paine, Laker
Milton Keynes: Muff, Osbourne, Spencer, Beall
