DEPLETED Weymouth Wildcats travel to the Isle of Wight tonight looking for their first win of the season in the Southern Development League.
Weymouth have drafted in two riders, Max Pankhurst and Martyn Smith, to join Jordan Bull and Bailey Fellows in the side that has faced four losses so far.
Bull’s return is a major positive however, with the captain set to return to action following a knee injury.
Luke Barnes is set to miss out as he has sustained an elbow injury that has ruled him out for two to four weeks, while Jacob Fellows is currently on holiday and James Jessop currently has issues with his van.
Isle Of Wight sit one place above the Wildcats, with one win to their name so far this season.
Wildcats co-promoter Martin Peters said: “I think they (the Wildcats) are feeling confident.
“I know Jordan (Bull) is raring to go, he has not got his teeth into it yet. He is looking forward to it and I know Bailey (Fellows) is always up for riding.”
The trip will be Fellows’ second visit to the Isle of Wight this year, having been to a training camp and knows what the track is like.
Despite their record so far this year, Peters speaks optimistically and with real hope in what should be an encouraging and uplifting sign for Wildcats’ fans.
Peters said: “Hopefully we are feeling nice and confident, we will always go for the win.
“I think the lads are going to score some points, to be honest, I don’t like to sound too cocky because sometimes it can backfire on you and you look stupid.
“The guys are going to be hunting for points.
“Let’s see what they can do.”
