WEYMOUTH have secured their second signing of the week after former AFC Bournemouth academy midfielder Jake McCarthy penned a one-year deal.
McCarthy, 21, can play in midfield or defence and has had previous stints at AFC Totton and Dorchester Town and most recently at Maidstone United, where he spent the second half of the 2016/17 season.
Weymouth assistant manager Paul Maitland was delighted to attract McCarthy to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
He said: “It’s a huge coup to bring a player of his calibre to the club. He’ll be a good addition and will bring a spark back to the midfield.
“He’s looking forward to it and has bought into the club’s aims as well.”
