WILDCATS’ mascot Sam Peters had reason to celebrate, winning four rides out of four in a junior event at Plymouth on Friday.
Peters, 13, travelled with the Wildcats’ squad for the meeting, and sealed his first maximum with the quartet of race wins, while his dad and Weymouth co-promoter Martin, was in hospital undergoing an appendix operation.
Speaking on behalf of the Wildcats, James Tresadern said: “Sam was bouncing and we were trying to re-lay that to Martin, who was sat in Dorset County Hospital!
“It gives the kids a good chance to get some track time and Sam was bouncing off the walls. He was saying his mum has got to give him a pound for every point he scored and he got 12, so he was pretty pleased!”
Peters also recently delivered an encouraging performance in the third round of the British Youth Championships at Rye House.
The Wey Valley pupil claimed four points from his four races at the meeting, bettering his tally of three set in round two.
