JURASSIC Coast Girls FC have had their application for FA Charter Standard Youth Club Status approved by the Football Association.
The club, which was formed at the start of the season to provide dedicated girls’ football provision in the area, has grown rapidly in its short time.
Initially starting with just an under-10s team, the club has grown to incorporate a younger under-8s team, while they have also launched a side to cater for younger age groups.
Speaking of the achievement, club chairman Nathan Wood said: “Huge thanks for all the hard work the committee, parents, supporters, players and everyone connected with Jurassic Coast Girls has put in to achieve this award.
“This award is recognition of how the club goes about providing the appropriate and safe environment that youth footballers need to prosper.
“The club is dedicated to developing girls’ football not only in the local area but throughout Dorset and are keen to work with both the National and County FAs, the Women’s Super League, our sister club, Yeovil Town Ladies and other dedicated girls’ clubs in achieving this aim.
“The club continues to grow as we start our third age group with the longer term aim of achieving FA Charter Standard Development Club Status in the not too distant future.”
