WEYMOUTH & Portland Under-13s came out victorious as they competed in the Dorset County Plate trophy.
In the first of two games, they took the lead and pressed the advantage, only for an ever-tenacious Bridport side to fight back, before a spirited finish by the Seasiders saw them through.
In the second game Weymouth showcased a real battling determination throughout, which left the Swanage & Wareham side unable to get a grip on the game, and ultimately forcing them to defeat.
Both games showed the real potential of the young team.
Weymouth Under-13s are sponsored by Weymouth’s William Henry
Wetherspoons, and are open for newcomers of all shapes and sizes to take park.
The team trains at Weymouth RFC on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm, with games on a Sunday.
