REDLANDS Rebels were the big winners as they achieved a spectacular 16-1 victory against Verwood at the Dorset Girls’ County Cup Finals day to win the Under-12s’ Plate.
The Rebels looked impressive from start to finish at the Blandford School, with goals coming from Sophie Bonfield (5), Cerys Murphy (5), O Conning (3), L Sheward (2) and K Kemmett, with A Figg getting the consolation for the opposition.
Verwood Girls were unlucky, having hit the woodwork on
numerous occasions, while Redlands’ strength and depth shone through in a one-sided final.
Wool & Winfrith edged victory in the Under-12 Cup final, as they beat Poole Town Wessex 1-0.
It was an exciting encounter, as with the scores level at full-time, they went to extra time to find a winner.
But Myer Burnie popped up with the winner in the closing stages, to wrap up the win, avenging last year’s final when Poole Town Wessex came out victorious.
But it wasn’t all bad news for Poole, who managed to win the Under-14 Cup by beating Broadstone with an emphatic 4-0 win, while Swanage Town & Herston won the Under-14 Plate competition, beating Longfleet Lionesses 4-0.
