DORCHESTER TOWN RAIDERS 5
WEYMOUTH COUGARS 1
WEYMOUTH Cougars’ hopes of securing the league title were dashed as Dorchester Town Raiders secured a comfortable 5-1 victory.
Dorchester dominated in the early stages and took the lead through a fast counter-attacking goal, which was swiftly followed up by a second.
It went from bad to worse before half-time, as Dorchester rammed home a third to all but end the game as a contest.
Weymouth did rally in the second half, creating an array of chances but against the run of play it was the Raiders who grabbed a fourth.
Nial Turner did get a consolation goal for the Cougars, but this didn’t rattle Dorchester who slotted home a fifth goal to wrap up the win and take them to the top of the league with an unbeaten record to their name.
