REDLANDS FC won several age group competitions as they hosted a girls’ football and mini-soccer festival where at least 700 children from across the country descended on Redlands Community Sports Hub in
Weymouth.
Action was fast and furious all day as teams competed at under-7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 age groups in the girls section and under-6, 7, 8, 9, 10 in the boys section.
Teams from as far away as Cardiff, Plymouth, Westbury, Portsmouth, Yeovil and Frome came to the tournament, with competitive football being played across the weekend.
The home club, Redlands FC, performed well, picking up three trophies over the two-day competition.
The club would like to thank all the players, managers, coaches, referees, parents, sponsors, stall holders and spectators who all contributed to make the events an outstanding success.
