ANDY Hutchings’ picture of the staff at Maison Edwards hairdressers received a warm response from readers.
Maureen Griffiths (nee Stone) who used to work at the salon contacted us with an almost complete list of employees’ names.
Monica now lives in Yeovil, but has very happy memories of her time at Maison Edwards.
The names she remembers are: back row from left unknown, Myfanwy Evans, Monica Griffiths, Joan Smith, Billie Price, Betty Male, May Bobey, Audrey Hoskins, Sheila Shave, Daphne Hughes, unknown, unknown, Marion Tett, unknown.

Mrs Griffiths said: “I worked there from the age of 14 when I left school until I got married in 1947.
“Mr Hutchings bought out Pesters’ hairdressers on the seafront opposite where the bus stops are.
“I managed the shop and lived in the flat upstairs with my husband.”
She added: “I was delighted to see the photograph and it was lovely to see all the staff together.”
Sheila Warren from Hammond Avenue in Weymouth also contacted us about the photo and was able to fill in a few extra details about some staff members. She said that Monica Stone lived at Ventnor Road on Portland, Billy Price lived at the Grove on Portland and was the salon receptionist, May Bobey also lived on Portland, at Tophill, and her sister-in-law Pam Warren lived at Channel View Road, and sadly died over three years ago.
