DO YOU have fond memories of The Sound of Music in the 1960s?
Did you travel to London for a Royal Variety Performance?
Were you a fan of Ken Dodd, Acker Bilk or Englebert Humperdinck?
DoubleBand Films are producing a documentary for UKTV about the 1960s. The programme is a light-hearted look behind the iconic images of the 60s to the musicians who appealed to the masses and to the stars of the stage and screen who really drew in the viewers – stars of the Royal Variety Show and The Sound of Music, for example.
Producers are hoping to interview people who can share their memories of this wonderful time, including: People who loved The Sound of Music in the early days and who saw the film or stage production, bought the record or actually starred in the show, whether it be at the West End, an amateur production or even a school production that took place in the 1960s.
Fans of Ken Dodd, Acker Bilk or Englebert Humperdinck and who went to see them in concert in the 1960s or remember their music filling their homes!
People who were members of a dancing troupe, like The Black and White Minstrels or The Tiller Girls in the 60s.
People who appeared in or worked backstage in a 1960s Royal Variety Performance, or who travelled to London to see a show.
Photos, memorabilia and home movies relating to any of the above are of great interest to us. Or any home movies that can give us an insight into the fashions and music of the 60s.
