THE chips will be down this weekend when the award-winning Chapelhay Community Playgarden harvests its potatoes and turns them into delicious, golden and crispy chips.
The spuds are just one part of the successful community green space in Weymouth, which has been repainted and planted with a wide range of flowers, herbs and other vegetables.
People who live in the area, including the children, care for the garden and hold family fun days and regular gardening tasks.
On Sunday, October 2 between 11.30am and 1pm all are invited to help dig up the spuds, wash, peel and chip them and then tuck into delicious chips when they have been cooked in Pete’s chip shop.
Lunch will also include various home made and home grown goodies including beanburgers and salad fresh from the garden.
