THINGS are coming to fruition for a group of Dorchester gardeners.
The Germinators is a gardening initiative run by Stepping Stones, a Dorset County Council project that helps disabled people get more from life.
Using land behind the Greenwood Independent Living Centre in Maiden Castle Road, the green-fingered workers have created their own garden plot complete with raised beds and a greenhouse.
The Germinators have been running since the beginning of March and are having an open day on Thursday, June 9 as part of the Greenwood centre’s summer fete and to say thank you to the sponsors who helped get them started.
The day runs from 11am until 2pm and is being opened by Vicar of Dibley actor Trevor Peacock. There will be a raffle, barbecue and much more.
To find out more about he work of the Germinators, call Tony Strawbridge on 01305 228408.
