- A SPONSORED walk from North Square behind St Peter's Church, Dorchester to the River Jordan at Bowleaze Cove, Weymouth, is taking place today (Sat) in order to raise money for Christian Aid week. There will also be a talk by the head of Christian Aid's Wimborne office, Robert Pearce, at St George's Church, Fordington, Dorchester at 6.30pm tomorrow (Sun).
- A PLANT and garden sale will begin at 1.30pm today (Sat) at Osmington village hall in aid of St Osmund's Church. The event will continue until 4pm and organisers hope to raise at least £100.
- A HEALING service will begin at St Michael's Church, Winterbourne Steepleton at 6pm tomorrow (Sun). Organisers say it will be an opportunity to receive prayer ministry for yourself or anyone else in need. All are welcome.
- TRINITY Sunday will be marked with a tea party followed by a big sing' with members of the Iona group at 2pm tomorrow (Sun) at St Nicholas' Church, Weymouth.
- THE Dorchester Inter-Faith Group is presenting a series of meetings about world religions throughout 2008. The next talk will be by Rabbi Neil Amswych of the Bournemouth Reform Synagogue who will give an overview of contemporary Judaism. - A COFFEE morning will be run in support of Christian Aid next Saturday (24) at St Peter's Church, Dorchester from 9.45am to 11.45am.
- THE first service of the year to take place at St Catherine's Chapel, Abbotsbury will begin at 7.30pm next Saturday (24). Organisers say one thousand candles will light the way to the chapel for worshippers and all are welcome, including good dogs on leads. Candles can be bought on the day in memory of loved ones. Organisers say the service will be a simple ecumenical one, including a performance by local musicians, and will be led by The Rev Peter Saunt.
- A WEEKEND flower festival will begin next Saturday (24) at St Nicholas' Church, Moreton. The event will run daily from 10am until 5pm until Monday (26). Call 01929 462468 for more information.
