Why not have a go at a wealth of fun activities celebrating Adult Learners’ Week in May or enrol onto a summer course? Whatever your interests, Dorset Adult Learning has something for you in its exciting summer programme!
There’s a wide range of taster sessions around the county for Adult Learners’ Week which starts on May 11. Each taster is a maximum of three hours and costs from £6.50
Adult Learning Service Manager Marion Pymar says: “There is a tremendous variety of activities available – there really is something for everyone. The taster sessions are a great opportunity to have a go at something and then maybe book onto a proper course for the summer.”
Dig out those flares and dance to hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s at Christchurch Quay on Saturday 16th May at 2pm (in the adult learning centre in Bargates if wet) or try an Indian head massage. Plant a scented garden, make some jewellery or try your hand at print making, sculpture, embroidery or creative writing. Digital photography, computing, psychology, sign language and cookery are just a few of the tasters on offer. There will be an exhibition of print making in Blandford’s Corn Exchange on Thursday 14th May and a jewellery making demonstration at Dorchester’s Borough Gardens bandstand on Wednesday 13th May from 11.45am – 1.15pm.
Courses for the summer term start in April – from football to yoga, psychology, there’s something for everyone. Football coaching, activity leadership, a wide range of fitness classes, languages, archaeology, psychology and sign language are just a few of the activities on offer.
