A CHARMINSTER school is celebrating after they were given a Green Flag Award.
St Mary’s First School in Charminster has been given the coveted award for the hard work they have done for the environment as an Eco School.
This includes the children getting involved with activities such as composting, planting new trees, creating bug hotels to encourage more insects in the wildlife and helping the local community by litter picking.
Class teacher, Kate Brake, said: “We are absolutely delighted the school has been given this award. It is a culmination of years of hard work and eco innovations are ingrained into the school. Children are already expecting to think about the environment in everything they do.”
