A BLIND guitar player and talented young singer got to perform to crowds at Weymouth Pavilion thanks to the Dorset Echo.
Tim Geibell and Shannon Tracey, who are both 15, were heartbroken when their slot at Bayside Festival was axed due to the event shutting down.
The duo wowed scores of people at Weymouth Pavilion on Wednesday night as duo Starlight.
It came after Shannon’s mum Rachel inquired to see if they could play in the Pavilion Live series of nightly concerts arranged at the venue to make up for the lack of live music.
Initially the request was refused but when the Echo intervened a slot was made available.
Tim, who is from Portland , and Shannon, from Weymouth, played an acoustic set of covers including hit singles from La Roux and No Doubt.
Alvin Hopper and his girlfriend Linda Brookes enjoyed listening to the duo for only £1.
Mr Hopper, 65, of Weymouth, said: “It is fantastic to hear such good music at such a good price.
“We think it is a really good idea and would definitely come again.”
Weymouth Pavilion Manager Max Grayson said: “Starlight really are very good and lots of their family and friends came down to support them.”
Pavilion Live begins from 7pm on each night of the Sailing events period with acts lined up including Pink Floyd tribute act the Great Gig in the Sky, Goldie Rox and Ed Hintze.
