ONE ambassador travelled thousands of miles to be a part of the Olympic experience in Weymouth.
Ari Nelson from California, USA, wanted to be in Weymouth for the Olympics and signed up to be an ambassador.
She said: “I used to come here on holiday when I was younger. When I heard the Olympics were coming I knew I had to come here.
“I wanted to give back to the town that had given me so many happy memories."
She added: “What I love most about the town is there is the timeless Victorian village feeling.”
She added that it was ‘magical’ to be in a place with so many old buildings.
She added: “I love it, I love volunteering. It’s great to help someone- it just makes you feel good inside.”
