PEOPLE are being urged to come to Weymouth to enjoy the atmosphere and celebrate Olympic success.
The Bayside Festival may have closed but there are plenty of other activities going on – and musical entertainment has been lined up at the Pavilion.
In partnership with Atlantic Audio, the theatre will be host a series of local bands performing live every evening from tonight until August 12. Entry will be just £1.
Tonight at ‘Pavilion Live’ music fans can enjoy Sound Contenders from 7.30pm-8.30pm, Billy Hutchings from 9pm-10pm and The Surfin’ Birds from 10.30pm-midnight.
Borough council tourism spokesman Ian Bruce said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to add Pavilion Live to our Olympic programme.
“It’s a great way for people to round off their day after watching Olympic sport at the Live Site or having a go at various sports at the beach Sports Arena. I’d like to congratulate the staff at the Pavilion for pulling this together at such short notice.”
The Live Site on Weymouth Beach is a free arena where people can watch Olympic events.
Tomorrow Britian’s Star and Finn sailors will lead the quest for glory on home waters as the 2012 Olympic sailing medal races begin.
