SPECTATORS in Weymouth were treated to a red hot dance performance by scooter-riders as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
Red Hot Wheels gave a mobility scooter ballet performance on the seafront as part of the Battle of the Winds theatrical and artistic spectacle.
Crowds gathered by the Jubilee Clock Tower to see the dance formation given by eight performers on four wheels.
Samantha Knight, of Active Mobility, who supplied the scooters and organised the scheme, said it had been a great success.
She said: “It’s been a great project for everyone who’s been involved, everyone’s put in a lot of time and effort.
“Hopefully this is going to be the start of more projects like this one.”
Roxy Elliot, 92, of Portland , said: “This is really brilliant because I can’t go out without my scooter.
“We’ve only had two lessons and they were really fun, at first I didn’t think I was going to do it but then I thought I probably won’t get the chance again so I changed my mind.”
Jenny McConnell, another performer, said: “I think this is a great thing to be a part of, it’s once in a lifetime.
“Being part of the group keeps me going and it’s great to be able to do it with a disability.
“I have arthritis in both my legs so it’s great to be able to get involved in something like this.
“I’ve got my two-year-old granddaughter Alana riding with me, she’s really excited.”
