THE principal of the Boat Building Academy in Lyme Regis has tackled the Deputy Prime Minister about red tape.
Yvonne Green was among a small group of regional business leaders invited to meet Nick Clegg in Exeter. Mr Clegg, heading up projects such as the Regional Growth Fund and Business Compact, wanted to find out from the group what challenges their businesses are facing and their thoughts on what should be done to help the economy. The academy has been affected by recent UK Border Agency (UKBA) restrictions on enrolling students from outside the EU.
Yvonne was keen to talk to Mr Clegg about not only their position but also that of other small specialist training providers.
