Community 2000 in Straits on Portland is now looking beyond the Games and will be holding an Olympic ‘survivors’ party’ at the centre from 2pm to 4pm on Monday, August 13.
This is to round off the end of Portland’s contribution to the International Olympic Movement and partygoers are invited to get into the spirit of the occasion by dressing up in their favourite sporting outfits.
They are also asked to bring along photos of their finest sporting achievements such as winning the egg and spoon race, sack or three-legged races while at school.
The party will have a mix of music, quiz , raffle and cream teas and admission costs £3.50.
