LANDSLIDE victim Charlotte Blackman has been described as a ‘lively, fun-loving woman’ who had a bright future.
Tragic Charlotte, 22, who had been visiting Dorset with her boyfriend Matt Carnell and family, was buried under hundreds of tonnes of rubble in a massive landslip at Burton Bradstock beach on Tuesday.
Charity volunteer Charlotte, her father and her boyfriend were all buried when a section of cliff above them collapsed.
The men were pulled free by bystanders but they could not find Charlotte.
It triggered a major rescue operation involved dozens of emergency services personnel including specialist search teams.
They vowed not to give up hope of finding her alive – but her body was found in a 33ft-high pile of rubble late in the evening.
Charlotte, a student, lived in Heanor, Derbyshire.
An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned in Dorchester yesterday.
Her devastated uncle, Douglas Blackman, said: “She was a lively, fun-loving woman, who had her whole life in front of her.”
He added: “I don’t have many words at the moment, to be honest.
“She was on holiday with her whole family, her mum Rachel, dad Kevin, sister Sinead, little brother Mitchell, and boyfriend Matt. My brother and her boyfriend and her little brother were there when it happened.”
Tony Cooper, headteacher of Aldercar Community Lang-uage College where Charlotte went to school, said: “She was a smashing girl.
“She was delightful, hard-working, and she had her whole life ahead of her.
“She had a very bright future and was never a minute’s trouble.
Charlotte had been a volunteer with Derbyshire Autism Services Group, where she worked one-to-one with people and children with autism.
The group’s manager, Margaret Reeve, said Charlotte was a “wonderful, wonderful young woman”.
She added: “Charlotte volunteered with us for three years working on one-to-one sessions with autistic children. All the time she was a volunteer she was absolutely brilliant.
“She had a fabulous future ahead of her and was wonderful with the children.”
Mayor of Heanor Bob Janes said: “I feel saddened and my thoughts go out to the family.”
Craig Baker from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said crews were ‘desperately sad’ at the outcome of the search on Tuesday.
He said: “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family.
“We always wanted to maintain a hope and we concentrated very much on a search and rescue operation and put every effort into it. I can assure everybody we did put every effort into the operation.”
Mr Baker said efforts were hampered by the quantity and size of the boulders that fell and although safety was an issue for fire crews they were sent into the risk area.
He said those risks did weigh heavily on his mind but with advice from coastguards, geologists and their own experts they tried to keep those risks to a minimum.
• FRIENDS, family and well-wishers paid tribute to Charlotte Blackman on social networking site Twitter.

Rose Alex Claridge, said: RIP Charlotte Blackman who lost her life yesterday after being trapped by a landslide. Shocking. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”
The Hive Beach Cafe, which is located near the scene of the tragedy, posted: “Shocked and saddened by the death of Charlotte Blackman and our thoughts are with her family.”
