THE curtain will go up tomorrow on an innovative venue which will play a lead role in this summer’s Cultural Olympiad festivities.
The Innovation for Creative and Cultural Industries (ICCI) 360 Arena, aims to provide a dramatic setting for a range of interactive events for six weeks throughout the Olympic and Para-lympic Games.
The Plymouth University creation, part of Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea, will host a mixture of free and ticketed film screenings, interactive gaming activities, live performances and workshops.
Highlights will include a ground-breaking interactive sailing game that enables 10 people at a time to control their boat around Wey-mouth Bay, projected in 360-degree graphics.
The ICCI360 Arena can house audiences of up to 750 people and is on the Weymouth Pavilion forcourt.
